Exodus - The God who sees, hears, knows, and is - Sabrina Wiens
Thursday Mar 08, 2018
Thursday Mar 08, 2018
I don’t know where you’re at in your life and relationship with God right now, but there’s encouragement and challenge in this story from Exodus for a many of us. Maybe you’re in that hard place of trying to figure out where you fit and belong in this world – you feel like an alien in a foreign land. Maybe you’ve tried stepping out the way you think you’re supposed to, but it seems to be backfiring. Maybe you’ve been going through a really hard time and you’re crying out to God, but he doesn’t seem to be listening. Maybe you see God doing something out of the corner of your eye and you’re thinking about going closer to take a look. Or maybe God has already told you what he’s calling you to do, but the fears and insecurities are holding you back from going.
I just want to encourage you to press in to God. Whatever you’re going through, know that God sees you, he hears you, he knows what you’re experiencing and he is present and moving and at work. Cry out to him, seek him, and trust that he is the Great I AM present with you.

Five Postures For Living Well - Pastor Rudy Dirks
Wednesday Feb 28, 2018
Wednesday Feb 28, 2018
What posture is God calling us to? accept, engage, release, fail or rest? Pastor Rudy Dirks walks us right from the pages of Scripture through these 5 different postures for living well and how to apply them into our lives. As pastor Rudy said "Perhaps the posture of failure is one of the most difficult and yet most important postures, because our failures are what bring us to God! Sin is probably the greatest failure we face -sobering bitter truth- and yet God already knows about our failures with sin and has already redeemed it. The cross may have looked to the disciples like the greatest failure of Jesus, but it was the greatest redemption!"

Exodus - When God Seems Hidden - Sabrina Wiens

When Pharaoh demanded that Shiphrah and Puah, the Hebrew midwives, kill all the Hebrew baby boys, they chose obedience to God over obedience to the most powerful man on earth! God in turn blessed them with families of their own.
It’s interesting to note, that although we often overlook the faithful role these two women played in bringing their people out of Egypt through this act of obedience to God, their names are recorded here and thousands of years later we are still talking about them by name, and yet, historians and biblical scholars can’t confidently determine and name the Pharaoh who lead Egypt during this time.
Maybe we can’t relate to the murderous demands placed on the midwives, but we can relate to having to choose faithfulness and obedience to God or obeying the demands and expectations of this world. There are always demands that we know go against the will of God and there is the temptation to give in to those demands for the sake of making life a little more comfortable for ourselves and not making waves in the world around us. The demands might come from a boss, friend, family member, political powers, etc. The issue remains the same. Will we trust and obey God, or will we give in to the demands that we know are wrong?
